250th Anniversary Digital History Contest
For New Jersey High School Students
250th Anniversary Digital History Contest
January 3, 2027 marks the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Princeton. In celebration of this milestone — and the 250th Anniversary of American Independence — the Princeton Battlefield Society (PBS) is proud to sponsor a statewide Digital History Contest inviting New Jersey high school students to interpret New Jersey’s role in the American Revolution.
This once-in-a-generation anniversary year is not only a time to remember the past, but an opportunity to ask new questions about it.
Students are invited to move beyond memorizing historical facts and instead think like historians — analyzing evidence, interpreting events, and communicating ideas to a public audience.
Through digital media, students will explore how the American Revolution shaped New Jersey and how its stories continue to influence ideas about leadership, conflict, loyalty, and civic responsibility today.
Who Is Eligible?
The contest is open to all New Jersey high school students (grades 9–12), including:
Public school students
Private and parochial school students
Home-schooled students
Prizes
First Place
$1,500
Second Place

Prize winners, their parents, and their sponsoring teachers will be invited to attend a PBS anniversary celebration event in 2026.
